Jennifer Carreras has been named vice president, Network Comedy, ABC Entertainment. It was announced today by Jamila Hunter, senior vice president, Network Comedy, ABC Entertainment. In this position, she will be responsible for overseeing development and production of new comedy series for ABC.

"I've been fortunate enough to work with Jen for several years both in my time as an executive at 20th and as a studio partner since I've been at ABC," Hunter said in making the announcement. "She is incredibly smart, funny and collaborative, and I'm truly excited that she is joining our team."

Carreras comes to ABC Entertainment from 20th Century FOX Television Studios, where she was vice president, Comedy Development, since 2013. In this position she acquired comedy properties for development and packaging and worked with esteemed writers and directors, including Nahnatchka Khan, Jason Winer, Steve Levitan, Lord & Miller, Jake Kasdan and the Chernin Brothers. Prior to that, she was manager, and later director, of Comedy Development, where she worked with the creative community to package, pitch and sell new projects to networks.

Carreras began her career at NBC in Comedy Development.

She received a B.A. in English, with honors, from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
