Jason Clarke in Talks for Iconic TERMINATOR Role of 'John Conner'

Variety reports that Jason Clarke is currently in discussion to take on the iconic role of John Conner in the upcoming reboot of TERMINATOR: GENESIS, scheduled to hit theaters July 1, 2015.

According to the report, Game of Thrones actress Emilia Clarke and Brie Larson are both possiblities for the role of Sarah Connor. Sources tell Variety that the two re-tested this week for the role.

Alan Taylor is on board to helm the film with Skydance and Annapurna co-financing. Other than the news that the project will be the first of a 'stand alone' trilogy, no plot details have been released.

Clarke will soon be seen on the big screen in "Dawn of the Planet of the Apes." He played Tommy Caffee on the Showtime series Brotherhood and has appeared in such films as The Human Contract, Death Race, Public Enemies, and Rabbit-Proof Fence. In the film Death Race, he played Darryl Ulrich.

Clarke played "Red" Hamilton in the 2009 Michael Mann film Public Enemies.[4] In April 2010, Clarke was cast in the thriller film Texas Killing Fieldswhich is directed by Ami Canaan Mann, Michael's daughter.[5] He also played Detective Jarek Wysocki in the 2011 Fox series The Chicago Code(formerly titled Ride Along), from the creator of The Shield.[6] He also played Dan in the 2012 film Zero Dark Thirty.
