Jason Biggs and Joel David Moore to Star in 'Grassroots' Film

Actors Jason Biggs and Joel David Moore will star in 'Grassroots,' an independent political comedy, Variety reports.  The film, based on Phil Campbell's memoir 'Zioncheck for President' will be co-written and directed by Stephen Gyllenhaal. 

According to Variety, Moore will play "a former pedicab driver with a burning passion for the Monorail" who runs for the Seattle City Council.  Biggs will play his friend, an unemployed journalist, who agrees to head his campaign. 

Jason Biggs's theater credits include CONVERSATIONS WITH MY FATHER, THE GRADUATE, and BOYS' LIFE.  His screen credits include the 'American Pie' films, 'Loser,' and 'Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back.'  Joel David Moore's film credits include 'Avatar,' 'Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story,' and 'Grandma's Boy.'  His television credits include 'Bones.'
