Having just slayed a live and online audience with a Sunday matinee NPR First Listen Live from New York City (http://n.pr/17dKrYc), Iggy and the Stooges will make their debut appearance on The Colbert Report tonight, April 29.

The new Iggy and the Stooges album, Ready To Die, is officially out tomorrow, April 30, on Fat Possum. For an exclusive behind the scenes look at some of the juju that surrounded into its creation, check out http://youtu.be/n3vbymBA6ag.

The follow-up to the first record ever to bear the Iggy and the Stooges logo-the immortal 1973 proto-punk Masterpiece Raw Power-Ready To Die finds Iggy Pop, guitarist James Williamson and drummer Scott "Rock Action" Asheton reunited for a full album of all-new material for the first time in 40 years, with Mike Watt filling in for the late Ron Asheton on bass. "Burn," previously unveiled at http://bit.ly/Z86ZXE, opens the record recalling those halcyon opening salvo of "Search & Destroy," while the still-unreleased-until-tomorrow "Job" has already become a singalong anthem of the band's live set, with "Sex and Money" and "Gun" becoming staples as well. The record also finds Iggy and the Stooges in reflective mode, with its closing ballad "The Departed," a somber tribute to late founding Stooge Ron Asheton.
