'GMA' Is No. 1 in Total Viewers for Week of April 24

ABC News' "Good Morning America" stood as the morning's No. 1 newscast in Total Viewers (4.380 million) for the week of April 24, 2017, based on Live + Same Day Data from Nielsen Media Research. "GMA" outperformed NBC's "Today" (4.030 million) by 350,000, widening its advantage over the previous week by double digits for the 2nd straight week (+24% - vs. 283,000 for w/o 4/17/17). In addition, "GMA" turned in its largest lead in 7 weeks - w/o 3/6/17.
Further, "GMA" increased its margin of victory over "Today" from the same week last year by 32% (vs. 265,000 for w/o 4/25/16). For the 2nd week in a row, "GMA" built on the prior week in both Adults 25-54 (1.402 million vs. 1.399 million) and Adults 18-49 (1.023 million vs. 987,000). "GMA" cut its margins with "Today" from the previous week in both Adults 25-54 (-33% - 111,000 vs. 165,000) and Adults 18-49 (-55% - 94,000 vs. 211,000). "GMA" decreased its year-to-year gaps with "Today" by double digits in both Adults 25-54 (-23% - 111,000 vs. 144,000) and Adults 18-49 (-32% - 94,000 vs. 139,000). Season to date, "GMA" is the No. 1 morning newscast in Total Viewers, leading "Today" by 191,000 (4.589 million vs. 4.398 million) to take the top spot at this point of the season for the 5th year in a row.
