Deadline writes that Harvey and Bob Weinstein's TWC-Dimension will produce, finance and distribute a film adaptation of Ira Levin's Broadway play VERONICA'S ROOM.

"From Rosemary's Baby to Deathtrap, Harvey and I have been admirers of Ira Levin, as he has created some of the greatest thrillers in film history," Bob Weinstein said in a statement. "With Veronica's Room, we have discovered a hidden gem that is going to reintroduce Ira's genius to a new generation. It will also provide a fantastic opportunity for top tier actors and actresses to embody Ira Levin's fascinating, complicated character."

VERONICA'S ROOM follows two students invited to a New England estate to visit the last remaining member of the family that resided there -- Cissie. One of the students, Susan, impersonates Veronica, Cissie's dead sister, as a means to an end.

The drama debuted on Broadway in 1973, directed by Ellis Rabb and starring Eileen Heckart, Arthur Kennedy, Regina Baff and Kipp Osborne. Baff was nominated for the 1974 Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in a Play for her portrayal of 'The Girl'.

Ira Levin also wrote No Time for Sergeants, Interlock, Critic's Choice, General Seeger, Drat! The Cat!, Dr. Cook's Garden, Deathtrap and Break a Leg for the stage. He passed away in 2007.
