FOX Docu-Series COPS Moving to Spike TV

TV Guide Magazine reports that the FOX network has cancelled its long-running reality series COPS, airing the final episode of the season last Saturday night. The current 25th season of the docu-reality series premiered on December 15, 2012.

According to the report, the series will now move to Spike TV for its 26th season, debuting this fall. Cops was considered one of the first programs responsible for turning the FOX brand into a household name. It was the longest-running network series on the air prior to its sign off last week.

About COPS

Cops is an American documentary television series that follows police officers, constables, and sheriff's deputies during patrols and other police activities. It is one of the longest-running television programs in the United States and the second longest-running show on Fox. Created by John Langley and Malcolm Barbour, it premiered on Saturday March 11, 1989, and has aired 700 episodes as of Nove...mber 10, 2007. On September 30, 2007, Cops began its 20th season with a highlight episode called "20 Years Caught on Tape."
