Disney is the latest outlet to set foot in Sherwood Forest.

Deadline writes that Brandon Barker's spec NOTTINGHAM & HOOD has been picked up by the company. Andrew Rona and Alex Heineman are producing via The Picture Company.

The project is "a revisionist take on the Robin Hood legend" with a "Pirates Of The Caribbean tone" and likely another franchise opportunity for the entertainment giant.

This is Barker's first script but just one of many Robin Hood incarnations in showbiz these days.

Sony just bought a Robin Hood-themed project from Cory Goodman and Jeremy Lott, THE HEART OF ROBIN HOOD is coming to Broadway this spring, and ARROW continues to be successful on The CW.

And who can forget the glory that is 'MEN IN TIGHTS'?
