Devonté Hynes Scored THE INVITE Soundtrack; Listen to the Lead Single
Hynes previously composed the music for Job on Broadway.
GRAMMY-nominated composer Devonté Hynes, also known professionally as Blood Orange, has scored the soundtrack for Olivia Wilde's new film, The Invite, from A24. He previously composed the music for Job on Broadway.
The soundtrack’s lead single, “Contentious Environment,” is out now and can be streamed below. The full soundtrack album will be released on June 26, timed to the film's release in select theaters, ahead of nationwide release on July 10.
The logline for The Invite reads: "Joe and Angela’s marriage is on thin ice. When they invite their enigmatic upstairs neighbors for a dinner party, the night spirals into unexpected places. Have they reignited the spark or lit the match that burns it all down?"
The Invite features a star-studded cast including Seth Rogen, Olivia Wilde, Penelope Cruz, and Edward Norton. Distributed by A24 and directed by Olivia Wilde, the film premiered at Sundance this January.
Devonté’s previous film and TV credits include scores for Melina Matsoukas’ Queen and Slim, Luca Guadagnino’s We Are Who We Are, Rebecca Hall’s Passing, and Paul Schrader’s Master Gardener. He has also written a collection of releases under Blood Orange, produced several songs, and composed classical compositions that have led him to collaborate with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, the LA Philharmonic, the London Symphony Orchestra, and more.
