Sometimes real evil lurks in the darkest shadows and in the most ordinary places; this is where nightmares become reality. Returning with a fifth season of things that do more than just go bump in the night, A HAUNTING comes to Destination America this October to showcase some of the scariest stories of supernatural activity known to man. Through spellbinding first-person accounts, each episode profiles the story of one family traumatized by forces unknown. As the mystery and origin of each case is unraveled, audiences are left with a lingering sense that life after death is much more powerful - and sometimes more possessive - than anyone could have possibly imagined. From children to pets, the atheists to the faithful, these are the true stories of unrelenting terror that knows no bounds. While previous seasons of A HAUNTING aired on the Discovery Channel, viewer demand led to the show's resurrection on Destination America beginning Friday, October 12 at 10 PM (E/P), just in time for Halloween.

"From the Salem witch trials to the Amityville horror story, Americans have always been transfixed by the supernatural and phantom phenomena," said Marc Etkind, SVP of Content Strategy for Destination America. "A HAUNTING possesses a whole new collection of campfire stories to send a cold shiver tingle down viewers' spines and teach them straight from the source how shock and sheer terror can take their toll on a person."

Each episode of A HAUNTING reveals a world in which tragic deaths and unfinished business have left paranormal impressions so intense that some people are traumatized for the rest of their lives. While the premiere episode features a woman who becomes possessed and is forced to engage in spiritual warfare, additional episodes showcase real-life tales of haunted houses and, sometimes, even haunted people. Exorcisms, possessions, and hauntings are featured throughout the series with paranormal investigators, priests, shamans, and psychic mediums providing commentary.

The chilling October lineup for A HAUNTING is as follows:

Blood Visions
Premieres Friday, October 12 at 10 PM (E/P)
Betty Johnson and her family think they have found their perfect new residence in rural Michigan. But as Betty and her family settle in, they realize they are not alone. Faced with a supernatural threat and unexpected financial distress, the family moves in the hope of leaving their troubles behind. But when Betty's oldest child, Brinn, starts experiencing bloody visions and is physically attacked, the family realizes that whatever "it" was has followed them. With the help of investigators, Betty cleanses their lives of the presence once and for all.

Angels and Demons
Premieres Friday, October 19 at 10 PM (E/P)
Maryland single mom Kathie Sheats hopes life will change for the better when she marries her boyfriend Brian. But "something" inside her house has other ideas. Spiritual warfare breaks out, taking over Kathie's mind, body, and soul. After a priest, a psychic, and a paranormal investigator fail to rid her and her home of the evil presence, it's up to Kathie alone to exorcise the demon. In a classic battle between good and evil, Kathie desperately calls on an angel for help, and her message is heard.

Nightmare in Bridgeport
Premieres Friday, October 26 at 10 PM (E/P)
Connecticut child safety specialist Bob Baker has devoted his life to protecting children from natural and supernatural harm. He thinks he's seen it all after years of battling supernatural forces, but when his mother starts hearing voices in his childhood home, Bob is faced with a demon that evolves from his own nightmares. After colleagues, priests, and a world-renowned exorcist fail to cleanse the property, Bob resorts to literally "smoking out" the demon to reclaim his mother's home and his own life.

A HAUNTING is produced by New Dominion Pictures and Destination America. For New Dominion, Nicolas Valcour and Jim Lindsay are executive producers, and Larry Silverman is co-executive producer. For Destination America, Thomas Cutler is executive producer, Sara Kozak is SVP of production, Marc Etkind is SVP of content strategy, and Henry Schleiff is president and general manager.
