According to the Hollywood Reporter, actors Dennis Quaid and Michael Chiklis will co-star in a currently untitled CBS cowboy drama. The twosome will also executive produce the project, to be penned by Greg Walker and Nicholas Pileggi.

The pilot will take place in the 1960's and will tell the "true story of Ralph Lamb, a rodeo cowboy-turned-longtime sheriff in Las Vegas" Quaid will portray Lamb while Chiklis will take on the role of Johnny Savino, described as "a Chicago mob fixer whose entrepreneurial vision for transforming Las Vegas collides with Sheriff Lamb's law-and-order mandate."

The project marks Quaid's first appearance on series television. In 2010 the actor received Emmy and Golden Globe nominations for his performance in the HBO miniseries 'The Special Relationship' in which he portrayed president Bill Clinton.

Chiklis' TV credits include the recent ABC drama series 'No Ordinary Family' and 'The Shield'.
