In an interview with the UK's Daily Express, David Hasselhoff has confirmed that he will star in the planned movie remake of BAYWATCH. The film is currently being written by Peter Tolan for Paramount Pictures

The actor revealed that he will not be reprising his role from the popular TV series as beach lifeguard Mitch Buchannon but rather, will take on a role he is very familiar with. “I’ve just met the guy writing the film," says Hasselhoff. "I’m going to play myself.’

The original TV show, which debuted in 1989, followed a group of LA lifeguards. Recent reports speculate that Pamela Anderson and Justin Timberlake will appear in the upcoming film version. “We’re trying to make it a very cool, updated version,’’ says the actor.
