Danny Glover to Narrate A&E's Reboot of True Crime Series COLD CASE FILES

A&E Network is bringing back the genre-defining, Emmy-nominated true crime series,COLD CASE FILES beginning Monday, February 27 at 9PM ET/PT. There are 120,000 cold cases in America, and only 1% will ever be solved. The return of "Cold Case Files" will explore compelling new cases that have gone cold for years and chronicle the journeys of the detectives who reopened them. The detectives relive the events of the crimes, reveal new twists and startling revelations for full viewer immersion into these tragic cases, relying on breakthroughs in forensic technology and the influence of social media to help crack these cases - bringing long-awaited closure to the victim's families and friends. From the Emmy and Peabody award winning studio Blumhouse Television ("The Jinx") and independent production studio, AMPLE, "Cold Case Files" is narrated by award-winning actor and humanitarian Danny Glover and will air over 10 one-hour episodes on A&E.

Each episode of the new "Cold Case Files" will feature a single case that has been left unsolved for years, brought to life through cinematic dramatizations and gripping first-person storytelling from the detectives and loved ones who lived through the harrowing experiences. The series will highlight different approaches to solving cold cases that are more wide-ranging than ever before, enlisting crowd-solving and social media, alongside new advancements in technology to lead to further breakthroughs in each documented case.

Spanning 125 episodes, "Cold Case Files" originally premiered on A&E in 1998 and ran for nearly 10 years. It quickly became the network's highest rated series, while also being nominated for two Emmys for Outstanding Nonfiction Series.

"Cold Case Files" is produced for A&E Network by AMPLE and Blumhouse Television ("Whiplash," "The Jinx" "The Normal Heart"). Executive producers for AMPLE are Ari Mark and Phil Lott. Executive producers for Blumhouse Television are Jason Blum, Marci Wiseman, Jeremy Gold and Jessica Rhoades. Laura Fleury and Evan Lerner serve as executive producers for A&E. "Cold Case Files" is distributed internationally by A+E Networks

"Cold Case Files" is the latest show from the growing Blumhouse Television which has won two Emmy awards ("The Normal Heart," and "The Jinx") and two Peabody awards ("The Jinx" and "How to Dance in Ohio"). Blumhouse is currently producing "Sharp Objects" starring Amy Adams based on Gillian Flynn's bestselling novel and is serving as the studio for a limited series adaptation of journalist Gabriel Sherman's acclaimed reporting on Roger Ailes, shepherded by Academy Award winner Tom McCarthy. 'Cold Case Files' is the first of several greenlit series being produced by AMPLE, the new independent studio launched by former AMC executive, Mark and acclaimed showrunner, Lott.
