Dane DeHaan, who most recently appeared in Disney's LINCOLN, has officially signed on to THE AMAZING SPIDERMAN 2, taking the much-coveted role of 'Harry Osborne.' Director Mark Webb announced the casting news via his Twitter account a few hours ago.

DeHaan, who also appeared in this year's LAWLESS, JACK & DIANE, and CHRONICLE, joins previously announced castmembers Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Jamie Foxx, and Shailene Woodley in the upcoming sequel set for a 2014 release. The newest installment's script was first drafted by James Vanderbilt and revised by Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci and Jeff Pinkner.

James Franco previously held the role - the son of the Green Goblin - in Sam Raimi's original SPIDERMAN trilogy which co-starred Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst.

Production on THE AMAZING SPIDERMAN 2 begins next year in order to meet the film's May 2nd, 2014 release date.
