According to Variety, Chris Pine is currently in talks to join Gal Gadot in the upcoming Warner Bros. film WONDER WOMAN.

Should he sign on, Pine would take on the role of Gadot's love interest, 'Steve Trevor.'

Scott Eastwood was previously rumored for the role, but he ultimately took on a supporting part in SUICIDE SQUAD.

Per the report, "Steve Trevor was an intelligence officer in the United States Army during World War II whose plane crashed on Paradise Island, the isolated homeland of the Amazons. He was nursed back to health by the Amazon princess Diana, who fell in love with him and followed him when he returned to the outside world. There she became Wonder Woman (and also his coworker, Diana Prince)."

WONDER WOMAN will hit theaters in 2017.

Pine most recently appeared as Cinderella's Prince in "Into the Woods" (2014). He also has starred in such features as "Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit" (2014), "Star Trek Into Darkness" (2013), "People Like Us" (2012), "Unstoppable" (2010), "Star Trek" (2009) and "Bottle Shock" (2008). His upcoming films include "Z for Zachariah" and "The Finest Hours."
