According to The Hollywood Reporter, Ben Affleck is set to star in the upcoming political comedy NATHAN DECKER from Warner Bros. The film is scripted by Dan Fogelman (Crazy, Stupid Love). According to the report, Tom Cruise was originally set to star.

The film will tell the story of a politician who is caught in an affair and decides to return to his hometown to confront his complicated past.

Affleck is currently working on Warner's 'Argo'. The actor, director, writer, and producer won an Academy Award and a Golden Globe Award for the screenplay for Good Will Hunting (1997), which he co-wrote with Matt Damon, and has appeared in lead roles in such popular hits as Armageddon (1998), Pearl Harbor (2001), Changing Lanes (2002), The Sum of All Fears (2002), Daredevil (2003), Hollywoodland (2007) and State of Play (2009).
