Banderas Signa on to 'Knockout' Flick

According to Variety, Antonia Banderas and Bill Paxton will join the cast of "Knockout" along with mixed martial arts fighter Gina Carano. Steven Soderbergh's new film is an action-thriller with a script by Lem Dobbs. The two also worked together on "The Limey" and "Kafka."

Ewan McGregor and Michael Fassbender are also cast members. "Knockout" will be Carano's film debut. She'll be portraying a high-up private security operative on the run, trying to prove she's been betrayed by both her boss and the government.

Paxton will portray her father and Banderas will play a foreign operative who gets involved in the mission by revenge.

Gregory Jacobs, Ryan Kavanaugh, and Tucker Tooley exex are producing.

Steven Andrew Soderbergh is an American film producer, screenwriter, cinematographer, editor, and an Academy Award-winning film director. He is best known for directing the films Sex, Lies, and Videotape, Erin Brockovich, Traffic, Ocean's Eleven, Che and The Informant!.

Paxton's in his fourth season on the show "Big Love." Banderas recently finished "The Big Bang" and "You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger.

Banderas won major critical acclaim on Broadway for his performance in Maury Yeston's musical NINE, based on the film "8½," playing the prime role. Banderas won both the Outer Critics Circle and Drama Desk awards, and was nominated for the Tony Award for Best Actor in a musical for his performance in NINE.

Banderas also appeared on Broadway in DEATH TAKES A HOLIDAY and played Che in the 1996 film version of "Evita."
