It's the last night of auditions on The X Factor! Tonight, we finally find out which category each judge gets to mentor for the rest of the competition.

But first, the last few auditions. 45-year-old general contractor Neal McCumber sings Everybody Talks by Neon Trees and it's really aggressive and crazy. He has tons of wild energy but the vocal isn't good. He even directs his energy at Demi at one point, causing her to freak out and hug Paulina hoping to escape his attention. Afterward, Neal says, "She's like a cute little poodle, I just love her" and pets Demi's hair! Whoa, dude. No. He doesn't make it.

A group of 3 girls from Atlanta, Georgia called Glamour sing the Star-Spangled Banner. Kelly is immediately on her feet after their performance and pays them the highest compliment ever when she says "I feel like I'm looking at a baby Destiny's Child right now." They obviously get through.

Another group called Girls United sing Price Tag by Jessie J and their harmonies are smooth. They get through.

Zach Beeken, 17, sings Chris Young's Gettin' You Home and his surprisingly deep voice gets him through too.

2 guys who call themselves Wild Thingz deliver an energetic performance and make it as well!

Denny Smith, a 69-year-old with an awesome white beard and dressed completely in red, walks onstage and Demi exclaims, "Santa! Oh my gosh, Santa!" He sings Stormy Monday Blues and he has a wonderful blues-y tone to his voice. The judges love it, and he's through!

Victoria Carriger, 41, shows up with her 8 kids, ranging from 4 to 20 in age. She says she gave up everything for her kids and I believe her. She tries Because of You by Kelly Clarkson because she says it relates to her situation, now that she's separated from her husband and is raising her kids on her own. Her voice is wonderful! Simon calls the performance "extraordinary" and she gets "yes"s from four deeply moved judges. All 8 of her children rush out onstage for a group hug to celebrate and Paulina yells, "I'm gonna cry!" Everyone dies over how cute Victoria's family is.

Keith Beukelaer is 29 and dressed head to toe in tie-dye (boa included). Apparently, Keith auditioned for American Idol 10 years ago, where Simon told him that he's "the worst singer in the world." He says he's gonna sing Baby Got Back by Sir Mix-a-Lot... oh no. I mean, he does the job. And I do happen to know every word to this song. And there is nothing I enjoy more than watching Kelly and Demi dance and sing every word with him. The female judges try to get Simon out of his seat to dance too. Watching Kelly and Demi have fun is my absolute favorite! So it's a solid audition, actually. Surprisingly, Keith gets 3 actual "yes"s from Kelly, Paulina, and Demi. It's Simon's turn, and he says, "I also like big butts, so I'm gonna say yes." Wow. And Keith is in!

Just like that, auditions are over. All 218 acts that made it gather in Los Angeles for the next round of eliminations. This year, The X Factor has gotten rid of the Boot Camp round that followed the auditions the first 2 seasons. Now, the judges are going to pick 10 acts from each category (boys, girls, groups, over-25s). The selected acts will compete in the next round of the competition, which is a brand new elimination process called the Four Chair Challenge. The judges deliberate carefully, and it comes down to some tough decisions pertaining to the balance between vocal talent and actual marketability. The judges manage to slash the total count to just 40 acts.

The girls come onstage first, and Khaya Cohen, Bree Randall, Jamie Pineda, Simone Torres, Rion Paige, Danie Geimer, Rylie Brown, Primrose Martin, Ellona Santiago, and Ashly Williams make the cut. About half of those are memorable auditions in my mind, and Ashly Williams, the last name to be called, is my favorite.

Next up, the boys. Carlito Olivero, Chase Goehring, Timmy Thames, Isaiah Alston, Tim Olstad, Al Calderon, Josh Levi, Isaac Tauaefa, Carlos Guevara, and Stone Martin make it through! Rejects of note, in my mind: that sleazeball who kept calling Demi "woman," that kid from Long Island who definitely only got through because Simon thought he was cute.

The groups are up. Glamour, Good News, Yellow House Canyon, Alex & Sierra, Roxxy Montana, Wild Thingz, and Girls United go through, but that's only 7 groups... which means there's room for what has been historically my favorite part of The X Factor - bringing me groups like One Direction and Fifth Harmony - the part where the judges create groups from other categories!

But first, the over-25s. Lillie McCloud, Jeff Brinkman, Rachel Potter, Kristine Mirelle, Victoria Carriger, James Kenney, Allison Davis, Denny Smith, Lorie Moore, and Jeff Gutt are the chosen ones. I'm so happy to see Rachel and Lorie get through!

And now it's time for those they said no to already to come back and be made into groups! And I'm so mad, because of course that Long Island kid I mentioned from the boys category is gonna be pulled back into the group. I spoke too soon. The judges pull together a trio of teenage boys, a trio of teenage girls, and a trio of male country singers to fill the last 3 group slots!

Now we have 10 girls, 10 boys, 10 groups, 10 over-25s, and the only thing left is to find out which judge the producers have assigned to each category. Kelly gets the over-25s! Demi gets the girls! Paulina gets the boys! And, completely unpredictably (can you hear my sarcasm?), Simon gets the groups. It's shaping up to be an Epic season. See you next week, X Factor.
