Patrick (Jonathan Groff) is hellbent on salvaging a friendship with his ex-boyfriend Ritchie (Raul Castillo) and Agustin (Frankie J. Alvarez) checks in on an ailing Eddie (Daniel Franzese) on this week's ep "Looking for Truth." Hang around, we'll bring everything into focus.

A wise friend once commented that the only good use for an ex is as a speed bump on the way to your next relationship. Don't ever back up, as you're liable to blow out your tires.

I shudder to think what my friend would think of Patrick's actions. In previous eps, he has made it clear to Ritchie that he wants them to be friends. "Why, we weren't friends before," Ritchie replied. Out of the mouths of babes...

We begin tonight at the video game company. They are celebrating a release/milestone. There are tie-dye shirt stations, booze, loud music. Kevin (Russell Tovey) gives a speech. His employees feel he is taking credit for the success of a game he barely worked on. Patrick is looking for an exit. Kevin catches up to him to ask him why he is leaving a work function (you know, during the work day). Patrick asks him if there is anything he needs him to do. He goes to leave. Kevin is having more of a difficult time with the break up than Patrick. Patrick tell him he chose John. "We're grown ups. We don't have to make a big deal of it."

We cut to Patrick's bedroom. Patrick is engaged in a little self Afternoon Delight. He uses one of the socks he is wearing to clean up. It's one of those scenes that is both charmingly funny and gross. He then moves onto Facebook, where he notices a comment from Ritchie. Ritchie needs someone with a driver's license to help him pick up a truck. He tells Agustin he's going to help. Agustin assumes it is because he is trying to get back with Ritchie now that he and Kevin are through.

Back at the office, Kevin plays with the children's card game he told Patrick about back in happier times. He shuffles the cards around in his hands a bit and then put them in the drawer. He's perhaps realizing he needs to be a grown up. He calls his boyfriend and invites him to the office.

Agustin heads into the shelter to see Eddie. One of the shelter kids tells him that Eddie called in sick. Concerned for him, Agustin shows up with soup. Turns out, Eddie is faking (one of the few perks of being positive is when you call off no one calls you on it).

Patrick meets up with Ritchie. Ritchie and his cousin have a side business where they flip ice cream trucks to hipsters who then use them as food trucks. They head to Ritchie's old neighborhood. They stop off at a local restaurant for some authentic Mexican food. Patrick tries to steer the conversation to Ritchie's current love life. Ritchie wants Patrick to figure out what he wants to eat. "People hate it when you make them wait," he says. I don't think Ritchie is talking about the restaurant, Patrick. Doh!

They catch up. Patrick tells him about the break up with Kevin. Ritchie tells him he's sorry, but he didn't like the person Patrick was when he and Kevin were together. He tenderly wipes some sour cream off Patrick's face. They head over to his cousin's shop to pick up the truck. We meet the Latina version of Doris, Ritchie's cousin Cesi. She speaks Spanish for the most part other than "the one who broke your heart." Ritchie tells her to behave. She continues later (over beers) that Ritchie needs to "give up the wishy-washy white boys who keep breaking your heart." Oh, Latina Doris: I love you.

She eventually apologizes to Patrick for giving him crap. She was actually rooting for them as a couple and knew it was special when Ritchie borrowed $200 for a suit to go to a wedding with Patrick last season. It is unintentionally the most hurtful thing she could say to him. Patrick feels like an idiot.

Agustin and Eddie eat, share a joint and dance around Eddie's apartment. Agustin makes his move and he is rebuffed by Eddie. You get the sense that Agustin doesn't usually strike out. Eddie tells him he gives up way too easily and then kisses him. Eddie does tell him that it isn't anything official. They are just fooling around.

On the way back to the city with the ice cream truck, Patrick again broaches the subject about Ritchie and he being friends. He comes clean with the fact that he hooked up with Kevin just before he broke up with Ritchie (so, Kevin was sort of the reason). Ritchie is hurt, but tells him it is in the past. He would be sad if Patrick wasn't in his life in some regard. They are going to try and be friends.
