With the passing of game show icon and avid philanthropist Monty Hall this weekend, BUZZR has put together a special tribute to honor the legendary host. Beginning at 8:00 AM ET/5:00 AM PT on Tuesday, October 3rd, BUZZR will air a special marathon of retro Let's Make A Deal and The All-New Beat the Clock episodes, hosted by Monty.

Monty was the co-creator of Let's Make A deal, teaming with writer and producer Stefan Hatos. The duo premiered the series in 1963 with Monty serving as the host. Throughout the show, a number of deals were offered to contestants, who then attempted to trade items and/or "make a deal" for prizes with the possibility of winning something more valuable, all while running the risk of being awarded a worthless piece of junk called a "Zonk." With Monty at the helm, eventually the show became known for the crazy costumes worn by audience members in order to increase their chances of being chosen as a contestant.

BUZZR premiered on June 1, 2015. In celebration of the network launch, BUZZR kicked off by airing the original 1963 pilot episode of Let's Make A Deal. This was the first time since the initial broadcast that the pilot aired in primetime. To supplement this historical broadcast, BUZZR aired exclusive clips from a sit down interview with the original Let's Make A Deal host, Monty Hall, and current host, Wayne Brady. The two hosts took an intimate look back at the show and discussed on set bloopers and their craziest contestants:

Along with Let's Make A Deal, BUZZR's tribute to Monty Hall will also include the airing of episodes of The All-New Beat the Clock, which Monty hosted beginning in 1979. The show was a revival of the original Beat the Clock series in which pairs of contestants were required to perform wild and crazy tasks as they raced against the clock. Rather than requiring brain and muscle power, the tasks often required physical dexterity and a lack of inhabitation, combined with a bit of luck. Contestants who were able to beat the clock went home with fabulous cash and prizes.

In addition to his hosting duties, Monty was an avid philanthropist who is estimated to have raised more than $1 billion for various charities throughout his lifetime. BUZZR's commemorative broadcast will also include information on how to carry on Monty's legacy of giving by donating to UNICEF, a charity chosen by his family: https://www.unicef.org/.

BUZZR's special tribute to Monty Hall will begin airing tomorrow, Tuesday, October 3rd beginning at 8:00 a.m. ET and will conclude on Wednesday, October 4th at 2:00 a.m. ET. Included in the tribute will be a special airing of the original 1963 pilot of Let's Make A Deal at 8:00 p.m. ET, and again at 11:00 p.m. ET.
