BOYHOOD, BIRDMAN Among Vancouver Film Critics Circle Award Winners

Richard Linklater's drama BOYHOOD received the award for Best Film at last night's Vancouver Film Critics Circle Awards. The film, which was shot over a period of 12 years, also received nods for Patricia Arquette as Best Supporting Actress.

The film was also named Best Picture by the L.A. Film Critics Association, New York Film Critics Circle, New York Film Critics Online and the San Francisco Film Critics Circle.

Also among the night's winners was BIRDMAN director Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu. Wes Anderson was awarded the best screenplay prize for his hit film, The Grand Budapest Hotel. Jake Gyllenhaal, currently starring on Broaway in 'Constellations', won for best actor for the film Nightcrawlers, while Tilda Swinton picked up the award for Best Actress for her role in Only Lovers Left Alive.
