Two-time Emmy(R) Award-winner William Shatner takes an in-depth look at what happens when people are tragically or infamously transformed from unknown citizens into household names overnight. Stories like those of Jessica Lynch, Bernhard Goetz and the DC Snipers put previously unknown names on the minds of every American, and Shatner intends to find out how the lives of all those directly affected by these cases have changed forever. "Aftermath with William Shatner" premieres Monday, August 2nd at 10PM ET/ 9PM CT/ 11PM PT on BIO(TM) featuring an up-close and personal interview with Bernhard Goetz as well as interviews with other instrumental people who were involved in his case.

"Aftermath" takes viewers back to the dramatic events that dominated the American news cycle as Shatner gains exclusive access to the newsmakers at the heart of each story - heroes, villains, perpetrators, victims, family members and law enforcement officials - to dig deep and separate the fact from the fiction. In each one-hour episode, new and often surprising information emerges, not only about the events themselves but about how people's lives have changed in the years since they made headlines.

As Shatner puts it, he'll "examine old wounds and see where the scar tissue lies." Shatner's sharp intellect and probing questions will put a new spin on old stories while archival footage and reenactments help round out the storytelling to paint a clear picture of the events at hand. Stories will include some of the biggest national news subjects of the last two decades including Bernhard Goetz, Jessica Lynch, the DC Snipers, the Unabomber, Mary Kay Letourneau, and the Weaver Family of Ruby Ridge.

"Shatner's Aftermath" is produced by GRB Entertainment. Executive Producers for GRB are Gary Benz, Michael Branton, Ted Haimes and William Shatner. Executive Producers for A&E are Robert Sharenow and Andy Berg.
