Armie Hammer, Tom Cruise to Co-Star in MAN FROM U.N.C.L.E. Film Reboot

Deadline reports that Armie Hammer is set to co-star with Tom Cruise in an upcoming reboot of the long running TV series MAN FROM U.N.C.L.E. Guy Ritchie will helm the project from Warner Bros. Studios.

According to the report, Steven Soderbergh was originally set to direct the film which was to star George Clooney until the actor was sidelined by physical injuries.

Hammer will portray the role originaled on TV by David McCallum, described as "an NCIS regular who strangely doesn't seemed to have aged since the '60s."

The original TV series was broadcast on NBC from 1964, to 1968. It followed the exploits of two secret agents, played by Robert Vaughn and David McCallum, who worked for a fictitious secret international espionage and law-enforcement agency called U.N.C.L.E.

Hammer will next be seen in the title role of Disney's 'The Lone Ranger' opposite Johnny Depp.
