All-New Interactive JAKE AND THE NEVER LAND PIRATES Appisode Now Available

Developed by Disney/ABC Television Group's Digital Media team, the Disney Junior Appisodes app offers true interactive viewing, allowing fans 2-7 to touch, tap, swipe, tilt, shake and talk their way through various fun-filled activities embedded into full episodes of some of their favorite Disney Junior shows.

The new "Jake and the Never Land Pirates" appisode includes two interactive episodes. In "Jake and the Never Land Pirates: Pirate Mummy's Tomb," kids play along as Jake and Captain Flynn unearth the mysteries of the Pirate Mummy's Tomb. Key features that allow kids to fully engage with the episode, which include the following:

Sailing Bucky over the Never Sands to find Captain Flynn
Exploring the Pirate Mummy's tomb and unleashing the power of the Never Land Ankh
Helping Jake and his friends free Captain Flynn's ship and keeping the Ankh out of Captain Hook's hook
Collecting doubloons along the way while keeping an eye out for crabs

In the second episode, "Never Sands of Time," kids can help save the day by stopping Captain Hook from stealing the golden Never Sands of Time. Kids play along by doing the following:

Dodging sand serpents as they search for the missing hourglass
Flying Bucky through the skies high above Never Land
Collecting doubloons for the team treasure chest and using Pixie dust in a pinch

Currently in its third season, Disney Junior's Emmy-nominated and Annie Award-winning animated series "Jake and the Never Land Pirates" is a music and adventure-filled interactive treasure hunt that follows the Never Land adventures of kid pirate Jake and pals Izzy and Cubby as they work to outwit their island adversaries including two infamous characters - the one and only Captain Hook and Smee - using special powers, spectacular gadgets and indestructible teamwork. "Jake and the Never Land Pirates" airs daily on Disney Channel and Disney Junior.

The Disney Junior Appisodes app launched in 2012 as the "Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Road Rally Appisode," introducing an innovative new way for kids to enjoy their favorite shows. Well received by both fans and the industry, the app topped iTunes charts for weeks - making it to #1 on the Overall Free list - and won the 2012 Mobile Excellence Award for Best Content Extension Made for Mobile, as well as the iKids award for Best Web/App Series. Now the app includes appisodes for such fan favorite shows as "Sofia the First," "Doc McSuffins," and "Jake and the Never Land Pirates." The app has been a favorite with kids and parents alike, regularly topping the Kids iTunes charts.

Over the past several years, the Disney/ABC Television Group has consistently launched innovative apps for iPad, iPhone and iPod touch - most notably, WATCH ABC, WATCH Disney Channel, WATCH Disney Junior and WATCH Disney XD, all of which enable authenticated customers to access live streaming of linear channel feeds, as well as on demand episodes of popular shows.
