Alfre Woodard Joins Horror Spinoff ANNABELLE

According to Variety, Alfre Woodard has signed on for ANNABELLE, a spinoff of New Line's THE CONJURING. John Leonetti will direct from a script by Gary Dauberman.

ANNABELLE centers on a haunted doll named Annabelle, which was featured as part of paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren's collection of demonic objects in THE CONJURING.

Annabelle Wallis and Ward Horton are also in the cast.

Woodard will next appear on the big screen in Knucklehead. She recently appeared in this year's Oscar-nominated film 12 Years a Slave.

Among her many TV credits are Copper, True Blood, Memphis Beat, Three Rivers, Black Panther, My Own Worst Enemy, Desperate Housewives and more.

The actress has also appeared on Broadway in Me and Bessie and Drowning Crow, as well as the recent Lifetime TV movie version of the play Steel Magnolias.
