EW reports that Edward Norton will lend his voice in an upcoming episode of FOX's long-running animated comedy THE SIMPSONS.

Simpson Executive producer Al Jean told EW that the actor will voice “the most lovable minister in the world,” and one who may pose potential issues for Reverend Lovejoy. “He is much more popular than Reverend Lovejoy, if you can believe it, and Lovejoy is really upset and becomes a hot tub salesman,” explains Jean. “It comes down to a battle between the two of them… and there’s a surprise at the end.”

The episode, titled "Pulpit Friction," is scheduled to air next spring and marks the second time that the actor has lent his voice to the series. In season 12 he played a con artist in an episode titled 'The Great Money Caper.'

The 24th season of THE SIMPSONS premieres on September 30 on Fox and will feature celebrity cameos by Natalie Portman, Anne Hathaway, Zooey Deschanel, Steve Carrell, and Patton Oswalt.

In 1996, Norton earned an Academy Award nomination for his role in the courtroom drama Primal Fear. Two years later, his lead role as a reformEd White power skinhead in American History X earned a nomination for Academy Award for Best Actor. His other films include period dramas such as Kingdom of Heaven (2005), in which he played King Baldwin, The Illusionist (2006), and The Painted Veil (2006); and other notable films such as Rounders (1998), Fight Club (1999), 25th Hour (2002), Red Dragon (2002), and The Incredible Hulk (2008).
