ABC's "Modern Family" Sets a Record in DVR Playback
DVR Playback for the week of 2/14/11 (Week #22):
ABC owned TV's Top 2 biggest actual DVR Adult 18-49 gainers from the first-reported numbers to the playback finals with "Modern Family" (+1.9 rating) and "Grey's Anatomy" (+1.5 rating). In fact, it was the 3rd week in a row that ABC delivered the #1 television show in DVR playback gains, in the key young adult sales demo.
"Modern Family's" 1.9 rating point build for the week was the highest for any TV series this season.
As a result of DVR playback, "Grey's Anatomy" emerged as TV's #2 scripted show for the week in Adults 18-49 (5.2), behind "Modern Family" (6.2). Initially in the Live + Same Day statistics, "Grey's" tied as TV's #5 scripted show for the week moving up to #2 based on Nielsen's final rankings, jumping over CBS' "Two and a Half Men," Fox's "Glee," CBS' "Mike & Molly" and CBS' "The Big Bang Theory."
ABC broadcasted 2 of the week's Top 4 biggest overall Total Viewer gainers, including the week's biggest overall gainer: "Modern Family" - #1 (+3.76 million) and "Grey's Anatomy" - #4 (+2.85 million). Furthermore, "Modern Family's" Total Viewer increase stands as the second-highest for any TV series telecast this season.
