ABC's EXTREME WEIGHT LOSS Is Up 10% in Key Demo

ABC's "Extreme Weight Loss" was up week to week by 10% in Adults 18-49 (1.1/3 vs. 1.0/3), while also posting double-digit gains in key Women (W18-49: +15% / W25-54: +12%) to match its best numbers since its season premiere six weeks ago - since 5/28/13.
· Building from 8:00-10:00 p.m., despite going up against Fox's "So You Think You Can Dance" and NBC's "America's Got Talent" in the 9 o'clock hour, the ABC unscripted series grew by 10% in Adults 18-49 from its first hour to its second hour (1.0/3 to 1.1/3). A note about increasing DVR penetration and year-to-year rating comparisons: Year-to-year rating comparisons based on the Live + Same Day data stream are distorted by the level of DVR penetration in the Nielsen sample, which has jumped up to 48% currently, from 44% at the same point in 2012. More viewers are watching shows on their own timetables, which may not be reflected in the overnight next day numbers. The only truly valid year-to-year comparison would be one based on the Live + 7 Day metric, once those stats are released by Nielsen.
