Stereogum is premiering "In A Sense," the new track from Young Man's Beyond Was All Around Me, along with the record's artwork at http://stereogum.com/1253292/young-man-in-a-sense-stereogum-premiere/news/. The track is currently available as an iTunes single at http://bit.ly/XjCo4L. Young Man is the project of singer-songwriter Colin Caulfield who has been praised by Esquire as a "dorm-room-pop whiz kid" and by AOL Spinner as "wise beyond his years." Beyond Was All Around Me, out April 9 on Frenchkiss Records, was produced, engineered and mixed by Nicolas Vernhes (Dirty Projectors, Animal Collective, Wild Nothing) at Brooklyn's Rare Book Room Studios.

The new record is the final installment in an album trilogy begun with 2011's Ideas of Distance which was hailed by NYLON for its "impressive tracks...[that] have a sort of cinematic quality to them" while My Old Kentucky Blog called the record "full of the gentle lyricism and the lush, spine-shivering atmospherics we've come to expect from this one-man wonder." Ideas of Distance was followed by 2012's Vol. 1, which was praised by Big Takeover as "instrumental poetry with lyrics caressing the edges, in echoes of reverb, psychadelic trips, and meandering wonder" and Filter for its "seriously well-crafted shifts between proggy meanderings and pop hooks." Young Man has toured with artists including the Walkmen, Grouplove, Cold War Kids, Oberhofer and Fanfarlo.
