WFUV Brings Cheer With Holiday Programming

WFUV, New York (90.7 FM/wfuv.org), has a lineup of special programing to ring out 2017 and welcome in 2018. On December 19, WFUV DJs will share the results of the annual Listener Poll. From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Carmel Holt and Russ Borris will count down the Top 90 Songs of 2017, Following that at 6 p.m. Alisa Ali and Darren DeVivo will spotlight the Top 10 Albums as voted by WFUV's listeners with hourly sets, including a special FUV Live studio session at 8 p.m with St. Vincent, an artist who is earning "Best of 2017" accolades for her album Masseduction.

Holiday Cheer for FUV: Live from The Beacon Theatre (this year's concert with Aimee Mann, Randy Newman, Jeff Tweedy and Lo Moon, plus highlights from Holiday Cheers past) will be broadcast twice this month: Monday, December 25, starting at 7 p.m. and Tuesday, December 26 at 10 a.m.

On December 22 WFUV kicks off the holiday programming with The Whole Wide World Christmas Special from 6-9 p.m. Weekend programs, such as Mixed Bag, The Boogie Down with Binky Griptite, Ceol na nGael, Woody's Children, Sunday Supper, and Cavalcade, will largely be holiday-themed on December 23-24. Fordham University's Christmas Festival of Lessons and Carols will air on December 24 from 10:30 to 11:30 p.m. and Christmas Eve Midnight Mass from Fordham University Church from 11:30 to 1 a.m.

On Christmas Day FUV's "Home for the Holidays" Christmas Mix will air from 4-10 a.m., followed by the The Whole Wide World Christmas Special. From 1-7 p.m. hear more of FUV's"Home for the Holidays" Mix, followed by the broadcast of 2017's Holiday Cheer for FUV: Live from the Beacon Theatre from 7-10 p.m. Finishing up the night from 10-11 p.m. WFUV airs Everywhere It's Christmas: The Beatles Christmas Messages with Darren DeVivo.

On December 31 WFUV rings in 2018 with Cavalcade from 8-10 p.m. and a soundtrack for celebration with The New Year's Eve Party from 10 p.m.-2 a.m.
