The Austin, TX-bred art rockers shot a sensual thriller to accompany the lead single from their upcoming ninth album, IX, out November 11.
It's a tale of love, lust and the netherworld, complete with a stellar Victorian era setting. A dashing yet sorrowful young man reflects on a steamy love affair that ended suddenly in passionate tragedy. But is she still here? The curtains blow. Candles go dark. A presence is felt. "There's a curse upon your home / There's a sadness in this room / There's a ghost behind the wall," frontman Conrad Keely sings over a lulling piano melody. "You try to run / But it won't let you escape." The song swells with thundering drums and ringing electric guitars as the drama onscreen builds. The protagonist follows the sounds and clues through the mansion, finally stepping into a plush room where he witnesses the events of his lover's death and even attempts to stop the perpetrator: Himself. "I want you to let go," Keely sings. "And I want you to come home."
