Tigers & Monkeys Release Powerful New Album, SATURDAY DESTROYER, Out Today

New York City's Tigers & Monkeys is back with their third full-length album Saturday Destroyer, a project that tackles the norms of society and provides a sense of encouragement and empowerment to fight back. Fusing rock, southern influence, and a hint of blues, Saturday Destroyer creates a sound that is unlike any other. Front woman, Shonali Bhowmik, describes the songs as pages taken from her life in a big city which is all things at once: aggressive, careless, staggering, hypocritical and a tease.

Bhowmik creates songs by using her personal background as a Nashville native and combining it with her New York City experience. Her lyrics are inspiring and filled with influence. The band includes Jason Lam (bass, vocals), Joachim Kearns (guitar), Russ Dungan (guitar, surfer), Antonia Santangelo (percussion, dancing), Anthony Cangelosi (drums) with honorary members Jody Bilinski (drums) and Jeff Sheinkopf (keyboards, drums).Tigers and Monkeys have joined stages with renowned bands like Sleater Kinney, Matt and Kim, Ted Leo and The Pharmacists, The Shins, Love As Laughter, and Heartless Bastards. Their music videos have been directed by Fred Armisen (SNL, Portlandia), Mike Luciano (HBO's Animals) and Joe Mischo. Saturday Destroyer (Little Lamb Recordings) was recorded at Threshold Studios in Manhattan and produced by the legendary Kenny "The Soundman" Lienhardt of the Bowery Ballroom is available now.
