Thomas Day Releases New Single

Rising indie-pop artist Thomas Day has released 'will you be coming around?', a breezy-sounding single that just so happens to be about the crippling fear of being left behind by the one you love. Out now via Arista Records, the new song and its music video kick off a fresh era for the Nashville singer-songwriter following his acclaimed kids EP.

Produced by and co-written with RUDEY (Julia Wolf, The Band CAMINO), 'will you be coming around?' is the perfect mix of throwback indie-sleaze and modern bedroom pop. As chiming guitar, fuzzy bass, and a driving rhythm propel Thomas bodily through a fast-moving world, his mind travels inward instead: 'Sometimes before I rest, there's a moment I can get inside my head / I see you in that lavender dress, back when the world made sense and you didn't move west.' Amid anxiety that the physical disconnect is becoming something more, he careens into the chorus. 'Where are you now?' he soars in falsetto. 'Won't you sing to me now? Will you be coming around?'

'I've always struggled with the idea that someone can mean everything to you at one point in your life, and then one day you may never see them again,' says Thomas about the inspiration behind 'will you be coming around?' 'For as long as I can remember, I've had a tendency to obsess over that thought, then I wrote this song during a cute panic attack on a train in N.Y.C.'

The new song follows April's lovelorn cross-Atlantic collaboration with U.K. artist Master Peace, '

' — which began as a Thomas Day song before RUDEY played a demo for the rising British star — as well as the late 2025 single, '
,' a heavy, heartbroken track that United By Pop called 'another Thomas Day song you'll want to play on repeat.'

All of that follows Thomas' kids EP, of course, which inspired Rolling Stone Australia to write, 'Thomas Day is taking pop by storm, and there's more to come.' Praising the project's assertive new sound and introspective lyrical bent, Melodic Mag added, 'Thomas is still a creative force with a proclivity to connect with a diverse fanbase. He knows how to express himself and how to make others tap into their true feelings, and this will never change.' Singles '

,' and '
' were reminders of his gift for wrapping complex feelings in a catchy sonic package.

kids also launched the fizzy '

,' which has amassed over 32 million streams on Spotify alone. Wonderland hailed the cut as 'pure, carefully created songsmithery,' while United By Pop dubbed it 'the perfect soundtrack...to blast in the car or on a summer road trip.' Hits Daily Double featured Thomas in its 'New & Developing' lineup.

Thomas made good on that momentum last fall with his headlining U.S.-to-EU she got a thing about tour, adding to a major touring year in which he also hit the road supporting both Joshua Bassett and The Driver Era in North America, and Nessa Barrett in Australia. Next, he'll be headlining in Salt Lake City on October 8, followed by an appearance at this year's Austin City Limits Music Festival on October 11. He has also been teasing unreleased music on TikTok.

Thomas' fans number 7 million across social platforms. In 2024, he shared Angel Boy, a powerful EP that traces a romantic arc from infatuation to desolation, and in 2023, he released his full-length project Love Me for Another Day, which went on to rack up more than a quarter of a billion streams. With 'will you be coming around?', Thomas opens up a brand new chapter.
