Daughter of former Jackson Five/The Jacksons' guitarist Tito Jackson, Tanay "doesn't fall far from the proverbial family tree." Raised by her mother in Maryland, Tanay's natural abilities were discovered at a young age; in fact, it was her 4th grade music teacher who insisted on vocal training for the child wonder who, by age 12, was already writing music and poetry just for fun.

Tanay taught Hip Hop and Modern dance at the Dancers Workshop in Brooklyn, NY, and has worked as a professional dancer - evidenced by the expressive and energetic stage routines of her performances.
