Fresh off this past Season 7 of the TV sensation The Voice, Luke Wade stood out. In fact, the Texas soul singer finished in the Top 8 and was one of Pharrell Williams' understudies. The Dublin born soul singer, who grew up in Texas, never let any of his ailments -- from being blind in one eye, to overcoming temporary brain damage -- stand in the way of making his dreams come true. In fact, it was having this unusual perspective on life that made Luke the singer/songwriter he is today. He will be in concert at The Ridgefield Playhouse on Sunday, April 19, at 7:30 p.m. The release of his new album The River is a culmination of Luke Wade's story. Special guest is Greg Oliveras, a Wilton, CT native, who is a pop-rock composer, performer and recording artist whose new release is entitled Envision a World EP, now available now via SoundCloud. Each ticket holder gets a complimentary glass of wine or beer in the lobby beginning at 6:45 p.m. for a mix & mingle before the show. Another plus -- Fifty Coins (426 Main St., Ridgefield) is offering 10% off the dinner bill before the show when ticket/stub is presented. This event is part of the Emerging Artist Series and Doyle Coffin Architecture Singer/Songwriter Series, with media sponsor 98Q.

Wade's music is described as honest lyrics wrapped in infectious melodies sung with just enough power and delicacy to put the audience inside the message of each song. Imagine Ray LaMontagne with the showmanship of Bruce Springsteen and a band with musicianship the likes of Dave Matthews'. Luke Wade is worth seeing live in concert at the Playhouse!

For tickets ($35), visit ridgefieldplayhouse.org or call the box office at 203-438-5795. The Ridgefield Playhouse is a not-for-profit performing arts center located at 80 East Ridge, parallel to Main Street, Ridgefield, CT.
