Strange Talk, the Melbourne, Australia based alt-pop four-piece will join Swedish indie rockers The Sounds for a series of dates throughout North America beginning In Vancouver, BC March 18, 2014; the tour will wrap in Brooklyn at Music Hall of Williamsburg on April 7, 2014. Blondefire will also be on the bill. But before heading out on the tour, Strange Talk will playnine shows at SXSW so there will be plenty of chances to see the band play songs from their self-produced Wind-up Records debut album Cast Away which will be out April 29, 2014.

All songs on the album were mixed by Tony Hoffer (M83, Phoenix) with the exception of "Climbing Walls," "Eskimo Boy" and "Is It Real?" which were mixed by Eliot James (Bloc Party, Two Door Cinema Club). Rolling Stone (Australia) gave Cast Away a four out of five star review calling it "Equal parts Cut Copy and Daft Punk with pinches of Eighties pop, Strange Talk's album is a fizzy cocktail of synths, breathy vocals and tinny drums." Billboard said, "Stateside fans of stylish alt-pop acts like Empire of the Sun, Cut Copy and Royksopp will be getting very familiar with Strange Talk... Bursting with ornate synthesizers and warm vocals..."

Strange Talk's anthemic electro-tinged debut single "Young Hearts,"available for purchase now HERE, was produced by Captain Cuts(Grouplove, Smallpools, The Mowgli's) and mixed by Tony Hoffer. Neon Gold premiered the track stating, "From the sizzling coming-of-age synth arpeggios to the contagious singalong choruses, it's an ageless beauty that bleeds neon and shimmers like glitter and gold." Listen to it HERE. The song went to #1 on Hype Machine and The Chainsmokers, whose recent remixes include songs by Bastille andEllie Goulding, heard it and wanted to remix it. The song, which you can listen to HERE, immediately shot to #1 on Hype Machine and has garnered nearly 350,000 plays to date.

Strange Talk recently did multiple sessions for Spotify (listen HERE), Pandora (listen HERE) and, Daytrotter (listen HERE) among others. They played several shows at CMJ last year to packed houses including The Fader Fort at Converse's Rubber Tracks Studio and have racked up numerous accolades including #1 Billboard Uncharted for "Climbing Walls." They were #1 Most Blogged Artist according to Hype Machine and also had a #1 Hype Machine remix of their own with Foster The People's "I Would Do Anything For You." Listen to itHERE. The band has also had some great syncs including "Morning Sun," off Cast Away, featured in and on the soundtrack of the recent Zac Efron film That Awkward Moment. "Climbing Walls" was featured in American Eagle Project Live Your Life Campaign and Cheer, "Cast Away" was used in Need for Speed: Most Wanted and 90210 among others. They've played such festivals as Parklife, Stereosonic, Future Music, Soundscape and Falls, opened for Foster The People, the Rapture, Neon Indian and Marina and The Diamonds. Now Strange Talk will make their U.S. album debut with Cast Away - 12 tracks of indie-meets-electro gems (album art and track listing below) and begin a coast to coast tour with The Sounds.

The Sounds, who have been touring in support of their fifth studio album Weekend (Arnioki Records/INgrooves) released last fall, have been cresting on a wave of critical praise and fan support.BLURT called the album "definitely the most mature album the band has ever put out... Weekend marks a promising and strong start to the second decade of their recording career." MXDWN proclaimed it "the perfect record to keep you dancing during the coming cold months." Well known for the dance-party vibe they create with their live shows, these Swedes continue to remain on the forefront of the music scene, with new singles "Shake Shake Shake," "Weekend," and the just released "Outlaw" to add to the catalog of "Tony the Beat," "Painted By Numbers," "Song With A Mission," "Seven Days a Week," "Beatbox," "Something to Die For" and "Dance with the Devil."
