Hollywood Boulevard switches keys for one night only tonight, April 26th at 8:45 PM, when more than a dozen Los Angeles musical acts will gather in the plaza of Hollywood's historic Egyptian Theatre to pay homage to the city through its memorable hit songs. Outside, under the lights of Hollywood, this eclectic lineup of artists will each perform one classic song of their choosing that means "Los Angeles" to them. Plaza passerbys and the greater public are invited to pause and enjoy this seemingly spontaneous music-making. Participating artists include: RACES, One Two, Wise Cub, Morgan Karr, Lexi Lawson, Arielle Jacobs and more continue to be added. While the artists featured in Love Letters to LA represent a spectrum of different genres and backgrounds, they are all proud to call the city home.

Love Letters to LA: pianos live, a pop-up street performance is made possible by the presence of a piano positioned in the plaza for three weeks. The Egyptian Theatre piano is one of thirty decorated pianos gracing high-traffic LA neighborhoods during this period as part of "Play Me, I'm Yours," global art installation project, conceived by British artist Luke Jerram and brought to LA by the LA Chamber Orchestra (LACO). LACO's "Play Me, I'm Yours" encourages Angelenos to play the pianos 24-hours a day in outdoor locations all over the city and engage with random hubs of creativity. The pianos themselves are works of art: three-dimensional canvases vividly decorated by local visual artists and community organizations. Following their three-week stint, the pianos will be donated to local organizations to inspire future generations.

The show is located at the Egyptian Theatre, 6712 Hollywood Blvd, Los Angeles, Calif. Seating is available first-come, first-serve in Plaza courtyard as well as adjacent bar, Maui's. The event is free and open to the public.

Capturing the energy and excitement of the LA Street Pianos, the Love Letters to LA: Pianos Live concert will honor the city through iconic songs in an iconic setting. Each artist will present a mini-"Love Letter to LA," a song which describes their relationship with the Los Angeles. Through sharing these tunes, performed acoustic at the Egyptian piano, the event hopes to add to the community interconnectedness inspired by the "Play Me, I'm Yours" project.

"These pianos bring communities together, and in a city like LA, frequently charged with being disconnected, it's exactly the kind of project that artists want to celebrate and bring focus to," said co- producer Morgan Karr.

The event is produced by karmeck Productions and James Gannon in association with LACO, Tadpole Audio, and the Egyptian Theatre.
