The Preservation Hall Jazz Band, which derives its name from the venerable music venue located in the heart of New Orleans French Quarter, will bring more than their music to the Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center when they perform 7:30p on Feb. 26.

They will bring a piece of the Big Easy with them.

Founded in 1961 by Allan and Sandra Jaffe, the band has traveled worldwide spreading their mission to nurture and perpetuate the art form of New Orleans Jazz, turning everywhere they go into a party, a mini-Mardi Gras.

The band made landmark strides earlier this year with the release of their new album That's It!, the group's first collection of original compositions. That album also spawned one of the most vivaciously cool music videos of the year, shot by contest award winner Jo Roy, who brought extra energy and levity to the horn-filled track complete with black ties and break dancing.
