Patricia Racette Releases DIVA ON DETOUR Album
PATRICIA RACETTE, one of the world's most acclaimed opera sopranos has released her first crossover CD, Diva On Detour, on GPR Records. The CD, which is available for sale nationwide, download from iTunes and the Android market and at www.GPRRecords.com, marks Ms. Racette's first venture into the world of cabaret.
Diva On Detour is a collection of classic jazz, blues and torch songs, sung live, from some of the world's most famous composers. "Opera and cabaret are very similar to me," says Ms. Racette. "It's all about storytelling. It's my job to tell the story - whether it be a three hour opera or a three minute song."
Accompanied on piano by Craig Terry, Ms. Racette sings classics such as I Got Rhythm, Get Happy, The Man That Got Away, Come Rain or Come Shine, So In Love and many others. She also includes classic songs by Edith Piaf - Milord, Padam, La Vie en Rose, Mon Dieu.
