Brazilian psych-rock pioneers Os Mutantes rejoin forces with Bilbao-by-way-of-Buenos Aires garage rock trio Capsula for the second leg of their US headlining tour. These two South American bands first ventured out together this past spring when Os Mutantes was touring in support of their new album Fool Metal Jack which came out in April and was featured as part of NPR's First Listen series who called Os Mutantes, "...a band that remains vital after nearly half a century." The fall run comes on the heels of Capsula's new album Solar Secrets which was produced by the legendary Tony Visconti (David Bowie, T.Rex) and had Rolling Stone's David Fricke calling it "...garage-glam heaven on a platter..."

In addition to finding fans in the press for their new album, Capsula also earned themselves accolades for their live shows this past spring. The Austin Chronicleraved about their performance at this year's Austin Psych Fest, "Capsula's dark wave rock - surfing basslines, needling leads, and kit-crashing propulsion - pushes the motoring thrust of early Black Rebel Motorcycle Club with its own distinct pulse. These aren't musicians playing at a band, they're a fabulous gilded snake, writhing on a big stage while plying seismic garage rock." The band wrapped their US run with Os Mutantes in May and headed back to Spain to play a few shows and festivals including Sonorama Ribera 16 and Dia de la Musica as well as a special Converse show in Barcelona with Pissed Jeans. In addition, they shot a music video for "Blind" which premiered with Filter a few weeks before the August 26th album release on Krian Music Group. MTV Iggy picked up the video and wrote a big feature remarking that, "the Buenos Aires bred rockers soar to new heights..." and said that Solar Secrets "...is Capsula's most explosive collection of tunes yet."

Capsula is excited to be rejoining Os Mutantes for the second leg of their US headlining tour and Os Mutantes is thrilled to have them back as they make their way down the East Coast and into the Midwest for the first time since Fool Metal Jackwas released on Krian Music Group in April. All of the markets on the fall trek are ones that Os Mutantes didn't visit this past spring outside of New York City where they ended their tour with an amazing headlining show as part of the Celebrate Brooklyn! concert series in Prospect Park. The New York Times gave it a critic's pick and wrote, "This Brazilian psychedelic-rock collective creates clever, ebullient parties that combine a music historian's eclectic nods to British invasion rock, samba, heavy metal and more with infectious tropicalia dance pulse." The New Yorker gave the new album a plug in their preview of the same show, noting that the "...best songs are rooted in the heterodox and playful Brazilian-rock sound that it helped pioneer forty-five years ago." In addition, Jim Farber from the New York Daily News gave the new album a glowing review in advance of the show noting that Os Mutantes, "...shows as much vim, creativity and sheer weirdness as ever on their latest CD."

It seems only fitting that Os Mutantes kick off the second leg of this headlining tour in a city that has given the band good reason to return.
