No Bully and Hasbro Announce National Singing Competition 'I Have A Voice'

No Bully®, the leading antibullying nonprofit, announced today the launch of I Have A Voice, a national singing competition for middle and high school students to raise awareness about bullying and encourage student empathy. Global play and entertainment company Hasbro, a No Bully partner, is sponsoring the competition as part of its own BE FEARLESS BE KIND philanthropic initiative to inspire kids to have the compassion, empathy and courage to stand up for others.

No Bully and Wé McDonald, NBC's The Voice Season 11 Finalist, invite students - including school choirs, groups and soloists - to perform and share their cover of the powerful song, I Have a Voice from the musical, Song of Bernadette. In 2016, Broadway Records and No Bully released with People magazine the charity single performed by Broadway Kids Against Bullying.

"This contest embodies the spirit of everything we seek to accomplish through BE FEARLESS BE KIND," said Karen Davis, senior vice president of Global Philanthropy and Social Impact at Hasbro. "We look forward to watching and hearing students across America lift up their voices to spread this important message."

Entries need to be filmed and uploaded to YouTube.com with the hashtags #IHaveaVoice and #NoBully. Entries must be uploaded by Jan. 15, 2019 and will be judged by:

· Wé McDonald, finalist on Season 11 of NBC's The Voice

· Van Dean, Grammy and Tony Award winner, president of Broadway Records

· Michael J. Moritz Jr., Emmy winner/producer & director

· Abigail Shapiro, actress & Broadway Kids Against Bullying

· Karen Davis, SVP of Global Philanthropy & Social Impact, Hasbro

· Nicholas Carlisle, president & founder, No Bully

McDonald will visit the school where the winning student(s) attend and perform a 30-minute concert in the Spring of 2019. The winner will be announced March 1, 2019.

"We want to encourage kids to ignite compassion and build voices of tolerance and empathy in others at school and online, and this is the perfect platform to do so," said Will McCoy, CEO of No Bully.

Rules and regulations for the competition, in addition to the entry form and sheet music, can be found at nobully.org/sing. Follow the competition using #IHaveaVoice and #NoBully.
