New York City Electroacoustic Music Festival 2017 Sets Dates, Lineup at Abrons Arts Center

The New York City Electroacoustic Music Festival (NYCEMF) 2017 will take place June 19 through 25, with multiple events each day, at Abrons Arts Center, 466 Grand Street in Manhattan.

NYCEMF 2017 will showcase electroacoustic music and video art from around the world. The festival will include presentations of surround-sound music in up to sixteen channels, works involving new and customized electronic music instruments, works combining musical instruments and voices with electronic sounds, video and multimedia works, and audio and video installations.

More than 200 composers from Europe, the Americas, Asia and Australia will be presented, representing the full international range of electroacoustic music, including works by Americans David Taddie, Mikel Kuehn, Brian Belet, Mark Phillips, Judi Silvano, Stephen David Beck, Christopher Hopkins, Jeffrey Stolet, Mari Simoni, Mark Ainger and Eric Chasalow, and from outside the U.S., Joao Pedro Oliveira, Tom Williams, Clemens von Reusner, Gerald Eckert, Kari Vakeva, Ragnar Grippe, Gustavo Adolfo Delgado and Giorgio Nottoli.

Performers will include C4 Choral Ensemble, Brian Mountford, conductor, Patti Cudd, percussionist, Keith Kirchoff, piano, Joan Marti-Frasquier, baritone saxophone, Esther Lamneck, clarinet and tarogato and Madeleine Shapiro, cellist.

Video artists presented will include Wilfried Jentzsch, Nancy Bogen, Sylvia Pengilly, Mark Zaki, Michael Rhoades and Jeffrey Hass.

Tickets for the 2017 New York City Electroacoustic Music Festival events at Abrons Arts Center are $20 ($15 students and seniors) per concert, and $35 ($30 students and seniors) for a day pass (all concerts on one day), available at 212-352-3101 or www.abronsartscenter.org/on-stage/shows/nycemf-2017.
