Give Me Future, the new documentary film chronicling Major Lazer's historic concert in downtown Havana, Cuba for 400,000 people will make its worldwide debut on November 17 only on Apple Music. Diplo came on Zane Lowe's Beats 1 show this morning to talk about it. The official trailer for the film debuts today and is available here: http://majorlazer.fm/GiveMeFutureTrailer.

Directed by Austin Peters, the film tells the story of the global superband's March 2016 concert, marking the first performance from a major American artist in the country since diplomatic ties with the U.S. were restored. The film was a coproduction between Matador Content, TMWRK, Underground, Creators League Studios and MTV Documentary Films.
The culmination of eighteen months of planning, the seminal event was the result of an idea to extend the Caribbean roots of Major Lazer-Diplo, Jillionaire andWalshy Fire-to Cuba. The film, which premiered at Sundance, follows Major Lazer as they venture into Havana to meet with young artists in the community and evolves into a portrait of youth culture in a country on the precipice of major change.
The film will be accompanied by Major Lazer Presents: Give Me Future-Music From and Inspired by the Film, an album companion featuring new and unreleased tracks from Major Lazer and Diplo; music from Cuban artists featured in the film; a contribution from rising star of Cuban and Jamaican descent Herizen Guardiola; and "Gold," a collaboration between American DJ/producer Valentino Khan and Jamaican legend Sean Paul-all celebrating the cross-cultural collaboration which is Major Lazer's ethos. "Gold" is set for release this Friday, October 20 with the full soundtrack to follow alongside the documentary November 17.
"Major Lazer is a global band and it was our goal, from the onset, to present this film to the largest and most diverse audience worldwide," says director Austin Peters. "As a filmmaker, I am thrilled to be working with Apple Music to structure a worldwide release for a documentary that is as much about the music as it is the Cuban youth culture."
Says Diplo of the film: "Major Lazer's time in Havana was one of the most important and moving experiences of our lives. The people we met and spoke to, the things we saw and the show we played had a profound impact on us, and Austin captured it perfectly. It feels even more impactful to share this with the world in light of current events, and we're stoked for you to see it."
Major Lazer is the globetrotting dancehall-inspired project of global superstars Diplo, Jillionaire and Walshy Fire. Their most recent release, a surprise EP entitled Know No Better, topped charts worldwide and features contributions from Quavo, Travis Scott, Camila Cabello, J Balvin, Sean Paul, Anitta, Machel Mantano and many more. Their critically acclaimed 2015 album, Peace Is The Mission, spawned the worldwide smash hit "Lean On" with DJ Snake featuring MØ, one of the most successful songs of all time.
