Today international spoken song duo Janice Kephart (Washington D.C.) and Luke Gartner-Brereton (Brisbane, Australia) announce the release of Christmas Delight, eight original songs set to classical guitar distributed through CDBaby and soon on iTunes and Amazon.

Janice Kephart is best known to the US Congress and in the media as the former 9/11 Commission staffer whose voice is often requested on complex national security issues. Yet Kephart is also a spoken songstress and Pushcart Poetry Award nominee whose written words are the base for her captivating and sensual spoken vocals.

Kephart's ethereal style and unique originality earlier this year enabled her to join the Recording Academy of America while her albumWhere Paris Meets the Rain gained acceptance on the 57th Grammys ballot in September 2014. Her work is sometimes compared to Jim Morrison in its poetic caliber. Her fans call her soft but sweetly confidant vocal style "lyrical beauty," and its sound a "sensual, delicate abyss." The release is accompanied by a gorgeous chapbook of her lyrics, "Christmas Delight: Spoken Song Lyrics" available on Kephart's website here http://www.janicekephartmusic.com/#!christmasdelightalbumandbook/c14b9.

"Janice Kephart's art is a one-of-a-kind auditory experience that has its own distinct place in the world. Sincere, sensual, and evocative, it takes you to a magical place every time you click the play button," commented internationally acclaimed cellist and award-winning composer Ian Maksin.

Billboard no. 1 artist Ricky Kej said of Christmas Delight: "Lovely story telling and spoken performance by Janice Kephart, matched perfectly with wonderful music by Luke Gartner-Brereton. This recording kept me engrossed from beginning to end. Had all the magic and fantasy that you need during this festive season."

"Some call what I do spoken word, but that is not an adequate description. I write spoken songs where musicians help me weave a poetic soundscape. If you close your eyes, you can see my stories. I try to ignite all senses, but in a calming way," said Kephart. "A Christmas album with the worldly, versatile, and delicate craftsmanship of award-winning guitarist Luke Gartner-Brereton is a realized dream in a genre still in its developmental infancy. Our style is as new as the Christmas themes in the album diverse. Christmas Delight speaks to both the Christian and secular Christmas. We created it for tired ears seeking auditory refreshment, and to accompany favorite holiday traditions."

Kephart's songs speak from the heart with honesty.

Sensual: Musky spice is a bubbling brew / Beaming crescents because of You / Coddling a mariner's cantrip / Dark chocolate, bittersweet brown / Bask me in a steamy aroma on a cold, cold day / Wrap me in blankets / Ask me to stay / A pine's celebration / Gifted, is true / A forest's lingering musky spice/ May that forest, be you. (A Lover's Winter Wish)

Introspective: Pray for spirits who do not judge / Pray for M&Ms in paper bags shared amongst Us / Pray for the nonchalant but / Do not pray, nonchalantly (Thrift Store Dress at Christmas-Time)

Whimsical: Please note on the other end of Oreo Hall / Is a hazelnut doorframe ten feet tall/ Inside is a bed of delectable coconut-shimmering shreds / And on this lay my strawberry cotton candy spread (Chocolate-Dipped Marshmallow Kisses under a Peppermint Moon)
