New York City singer-songwriter Ramzi is proud to announce the release of his new EP "Champagne and Cigarettes" produced by Sean Gill (Seal, Nelly Furtado, Madonna). "Champagne and Cigarettes" displays a more evolved and confident artist, with the production moving slightly from folk-rock to a pop-rock feel. Three years since the release of his debut album "Color" , Ramzi's new songs continue his exploration of affairs of the heart with a personal touch that is uniquely his own. "Champagne and Cigarettes" will be released in May 2011 and will be available at www.cdbaby.com and iTunes. For more information and to hear music, please go to: http://www.ramziguitar.com
"Champagne and Cigarettes" is a 5-song EP somewhat chronicling Ramzi's dating life over the past few years. The songs cover various aspects of relationships, from infatuation to mental anguish. From the feel good Crazy About You to the soft and sweet I'm Gonna Love You, Ramzi remains hopeful, and his positive outlook on love comes through.
"This EP is really one of dedications, to those that have crossed my path and left their mark. The stories are based on my personal experiences yet they are experiences that anyone can relate to. Finding new love, falling for someone who's already taken, going crazy in a relationship...these are feelings everyone goes through. The recording itself is a more produced sound for me as well. My first CD was my first time in the studio and I was hesitant to add more instrumentation. Now I find myself writing music and hearing full production behind it, so this EP felt like a logical step for me.The producer Sean Gill knew right away what I was looking for, and really appreciated my singer-songwriter background. The songs are more polished, but underneath it's still just a man and his guitar at the heart of it." - Ramzi on "Champagne and Cigarettes"
"Champagne and Cigarettes" is produced by Sean Gill of the Passengerz and recorded at Nightlife Productions in Manhattan.
Ramzi is a singer-songwriter originally from California now living in New York. His acoustic driven folk rock draws comparisons to other successful songwriters like Jason Mraz and John Mayer. While his catchy melodies and accomplished guitar work make these comparisons inevitable , his songs have a voice that are uniquely his own. First and foremost, Ramzi is a storyteller who is able to draw audiences and listeners into the world of his experiences.
Leaving the "real world" behind in 2006, Ramzi quit his engineering job at Intel and moved to NYC to pursue his musical dreams. He hasn't looked back since. His new EP "Champagne and Cigarettes" will be supported by concerts in New York and the West Coast.
