MotorCity Casino Hotel to Welcome Ledisi with Raheem DeVaughn & Leela James
American R&B and jazz recording artist, songwriter, and actress, Ledisi released the critically acclaimed Soulsinger in January 2000. "Papa Loved to Love Me" is one of the CD's most riveting and controversial tracks. Her third studio album, Lost & Found, was released in 2007. Two of its singles, "Alright" and "In the Morning", reached Billboard's Top 50 Hot R&B/Hip-Hop and a pair of Grammy nominations followed. The appropriately titled Turn Me Loose came in 2009 and featured collaborations with Jimmy Jam, Terry Lewis, and Raphael Saadiq. Her most popular disc, it topped Billboard's R&B Albums chart and resulted in another pair of Grammy nominations. Pieces of Me followed in 2011, debuting at number eight on the Billboard 200. "Like This," a song from Ledisi's sixth album, The Truth, earned a 2015 Grammy nomination for best R&B performance. To learn more, visit www.ledisi.com.
