Murder Abbey, named one of the "six best Downton Abbey spoofs" by The Daily Beast, returns to New York City and the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre for one performance only. Murder Abbey is a solo costume drama parody written and performed by Upright Citizens Brigade member, Kate Hess. Murder Abbey will be at UCB Theatre at 307 West 26th Street on Monday February 11th at 8:00 pm. Tickets are $5 and reservations can be made at http://newyork.ucbtheatre.com/shows/view/3186 or by calling 212-366-9176.

Murder Abbey is the only live parody show included in this roundup from The Daily Beast of "Six Best Spoof Videos of the Emmy Nominated Period Drama 'Downton Abbey" alongside Jimmy Fallon's "Downton Sixby" and SNL's "Fancy Entourage". Set in a grand Downton Abbey-like estate in the roaring twenties, in Murder Abbey comedian Kate Hess gleefully deconstructs her favorite costume drama conventions with smart and irreverent characters-all while solving an Agatha Christie style murder mystery. Fans of Masterpiece Theatre will delight in her fresh satirical take on familiar characters; from a suspiciously robotic Laura Linney to a lovesick maid whose costume drama courtship cannot escape the intrusive melodramatic music. Murder Abbey is recommended by WhereLA Magazine and Laist.com and called "very very funny" by LAI'mYours.com. An excerpt from Murder Abbey can be viewed here: https://vimeo.com/47388543

Kate Hess (Writer & Performer) is a writer and performer at Upright Citizen's Brigade Theatre in New York and Los Angeles. She has appeared in "Law & Order: SVU", "Love, Inc", and in the upcoming web-series for "Childrens Hospital". She is also the creator of the popular Downton Abbey parody twitter account "@OBriensBangs"

Andrew Secunda (Director) was a writer on "Late Night with Conan O'Brien" for which he won two Writers Guild Awards and was nominated for two Emmys. He has also written for "Saturday Night Live's TV Funhouse " and "Night of Too Many Stars", for which he received his third Emmy nomination. At UCB he co founded improv supergroup The Swarm, and performs regularly at ASSSSCAT. As an actor he has appeared on "Arrested Development' "The Flight of the Conchords" "The League" "The Other Guys" and "The Office".
