Lakes of Canada Release Third Studio Album WE WILL OUTLIVE THE SUN

Lakes of Canada, a Montreal-based gospel-prog four piece, celebrate the release of their third studio album, We Will Outlive the Sun, with a new video for their second single The Sky is Falling. We Will Outlive the Sun will be released October 6, 2018 with a release party at La Vitrola in Montreal, followed by a tour across Eastern Canada.

Lakes of Canada, featuring 2018 Grammy Award Winners Jake Smith and Conor O'Neil (Best Rock Performance for Leonard Cohen's You Want It Darker), will release We Will Outlive the Sun, a rock opera about climate change, neo-fascism, and the downfall of capitalism.

We Will Outlive the Sun is sung from the perspective of the people left behind, knowing they're doomed, singing a song of hope. The Sky is Falling is a colourful music video accompanying a song of mourning.

We Will Outlive the Sun is centered around two stories. The first is a group of precocious young artists and activists who radicalize and begin a chain reaction of events that lead to the downfall of capitalism and the collapse of global infrastructure. The second is a parallel group trying to survive one hundred years later in a post climate change world. The future story begins at its end, moving backward, while the past story moves forward until they both meet in the middle at the end of the album.

We Will Outlive the Sun is the follow up to their critically acclaimed album Transgressions (2015), a concept album about Margaret Atwood's "The Handmaid's Tale".

Lakes of Canada is Jake Smith, Conor O'Neil, Sarah Morasse, and Caleb Smith. We Will Outlive the Sun was recorded at McGill university by James Clemens-Seely and Upper China studios by Paul Cargnello. Produced by Paul Cargnello & Jake Smith
