Lagond's LIVE! from The Haven (9 Haven Street) welcomes Jerad Lippi (drums), Rick Rosato (bass) and Jean-Michel Pilc (pianist) for an evening of dynamic musical explorations and jazz improvisation on Saturday, June 30 at 7:00 p.m.

The Opening Act: Lagond graduate Henry Mermer (from Briarcliff) on drums presents a set of original compositions and poetry alongside his quartet, featuring Adam Cordero on saxophones, Odin Scherer on guitar, and Finn Carroll on bass.

Jerad Lippi was born in Scranton, Pennsylvania and began to play drums at age seven. He later attended The New School University Jazz and Contemporary Music Program, and received his Bachelors and Masters degrees in Jazz Studies from SUNY Purchase. Among the artists he has had the privilege of performing with are; Jean-Michel Pilc, Phil Markowitz, John Benitez, Jonathan Kreisburg, Eric Alexander, Dave Liebman, Randy Brecker, Paul Bollenback, Jimmy Greene, Ingrid Jensen, Gilad Hekselman, Jaques Schwarz-Bart, Steve Wilson, Ralph Bowen, Jon Faddis, Wycliffe Gordon, David Hazeltine, George Garzone, Sean Weyland, and many others. Lippi is on the faculty of Lagond Music School.

Originally from Montreal, Rick Rosato moved to New York City in 2007 to study at The New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music. He quickly became one of the most in-demand jazz bassists and is maintaining an international performing, recording and teaching schedule. He is regularly touring internationally and recording with groups such as Gilad Hekselman, Stranahan/Zaleski/Rosato, Ben Van Gelder, David Kikoski, and Will Vinson. Rick has also performed alongside Billy Hart, Peter Bernstein, Mark Turner, Dayna Stephens, Cris Potter, Aaron Parks, Bill Stewart, Marcus Gilmore, Jeff Ballard, Ari Hoenig, Mike Moreno, Lage Lund, Charles Altura, and many more.

With a multifaceted career that spans three decades, French-American pianist Jean-Michel Pilc has worked with a diverse range of artists including Roy Haynes, Jean Toussaint, the Mingus Dynasty & Big Band, Michael Brecker, Marcus Miller Kenny Garrett, Chris Potter, and Richard Bona. He has also worked with Harry Belafonte as his musical director and pianist, and has performed a duet with the legendary opera singer Jessye Norman. He is also well-known for his performances with the trio he formed with François Moutin (bass) and Ari Hoenig (drums).
