Kylie Minogue Announces North American Tour Dates

International Pop Star Kylie Minogue has announced North American dates for her Aphrodite - Live 2011 World Tour beginning April 28th in Montreal through May 22nd where Kylie will close the tour at the legendary Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, NV (full schedule below). The tour starts Feb. 19th in Denmark and will play in arenas throughout Europe & Japan before hitting Canada, U.S. and Mexico. The Aphrodite - Live 2011 tour promises to be an absolute landmark in the career of Kylie Minogue who is renowned for her groundbreaking live shows. Pre-sale tickets for the U.S. leg of the tour begin on January 14th for American Express card holders and Kylie's fanbase with public on sale beginning January 22nd.
"The reaction to 'Aphrodite' has been absolutely incredible and has inspired me and my creative team to develop a new show that will take all of us on a euphoric journey of joy, excitement and glamour. I can't wait to get on the road and see all my fans in 2011," said Kylie.In the fall of 2009 Kylie stormed America to sell out her first ever North American tour. The 6-city tour kicked off in Oakland and made stops in Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Chicago, Toronto and New York, wowing fans and critics alike at each stop. Entertainment Weekly called the show a "two-hour post-disco fantasia of strobe, bass, and glitter-an all-out spectacle." The New York Times claimed "The concert (was) efficient, clobbering, expensive, generous...close to an alternate reality"; high praise indeed and the 2011 show promises to be bigger and better in every way!After the run-away success of the last tour Kylie will be presenting the North American version of Aphrodite - Live 2011 in more intimate rooms in the States, where possible, including a much anticipated return to the Hammerstein Ballroom in NY and the Hollywood Bowl in LA.
Kylie's eleventh album Aphrodite was released in July and debuted at #19 in the U.S., marking her highest U.S. chart position since 2002's Fever. Aphrodite became Kylie's fifth #1 album in the UK, hitting the top spot a full 22 years to the week since her debut album Kylie entered the chart. The album also made Kylie the first solo artist in the history of the UK charts to have a #1 album in four different decades. Around the globe Aphrodite debuted in the top 10 in thirteen different countries.
The new single "Get Outta My Way" recently hit the top of the U.S. Billboard Club Chart, marking her second consecutive #1 Billboard Club single from Aphrodite following "All The Lovers" and her fifth career #1 club single to date. The video was recently added to the playlist at VH1. Kylie has visited the U.S. several times since the release of Aphrodite and has performed "Get Outta My Way" on NBC's "America's Got Talent," and "The Tonight Show With Jay Leno and ABC's "Dancing With The Stars." She also appeared on ABC's "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition." Kylie began the holiday season in New York, performing at the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade and The Rockefeller Tree Lighting which both aired on NBC. "Get Outta My Way" impacted mainstream radio on Nov. 1st and a suite of remixes are currently available on all digital download stores.
